Peace Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
    where there is hatred, let me sow love;
    when there is injury, pardon;
    where there is doubt, faith;
    where there is despair, hope;
    where there is darkness, light;
     and where there is sadness, joy.
Grant that I may not so much seek
     to be consoled as to console;
     to be understood, as to understand,
     to be loved as to love;
     for it is in giving that we receive,
     it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
     and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Morning Prayer (adapted from Daily Catholic Prayer)

Lord, God Almighty, you have brought us safely to the beginning of this day. Defend us today by your mighty power, so that we may not fall into any sin, and that all our words may so proceed and all our thoughts and actions be so directed as to be always just in your sight.

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart, in union with the holy sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in thanksgiving for your favors, in reparation for my sins, for the intentions of all my relatives and friends, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father. Amen.

Direct, we beg you, O Lord, our actions by your holy inspirations, and grant that we may carry them out with your gracious assistance, that every prayer and work of ours may begin always with you, and through you be happily ended.

Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Novena Prayer of St. Monica

Dear St Monica, troubled wife and  mother, many sorrows pierced your heart during your lifetime.  Yet you never despaired or lost faith.  With confidence, persistence and profound faith, you prayed daily for the conversion of your belvoed husband, Patricius and your beloved son, Augustine.

Grant me that same fortitude, patience and trust in the Lord.   Intercede for me, dear St Monica, that God may favourably hear my plea for (mention your petition here) and grant me the grace to accept his will in all things, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever.   Amen.

The Scriptural Rosary: Opening Prayers

BEGIN HERE WITH THE SIGN OF THE CROSS
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

THE APOSTLE'S CREED
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord;
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified,
died, and was buried, He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into
Heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty, from thence He shall come to judge the
living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the
forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is
in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass
against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

(Three Hail Marys for an increase in the Virtues of Faith, Hope and Charity)

THE HAIL MARY
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed are thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy
womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

THE GLORY BE
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall
be, world without end. Amen.

O MY JESUS
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of Hell; lead all souls into Heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy. Amen.
