Mommy Needs Coffee: Please!

Workout: 30 min power body

Yay, this work out was da’ bomb (yes, I said it). It was though, after four weeks it felt so good to do some light cardio and power moves. So fun.

Plus, I had back therapy + a massage to forward too and it did not disappoint.

At this week’s appointment the masseuse kept emphasizing the importance of drinking water. I think most people already know this, so I asked her why. Apparently, it has to do with the massage releasing lots of toxins that need to be flushed out with water. Otherwise, you may run the risk of getting some type of sick. Who knew?

It might explain my cold last week, so I made sure to get my H2O fix today.

For today’s Mommy Needs Coffee (which I always do) edition, I thought it’d be fun to answer these interview questions. I know I’m no Christina Applegate, so go check out her answer’s here too!

Still trying to figure that one out. As soon as I think I got it, it all changes.

The thing I swore I'd never say to my kid, but do is ...

It’s for your own good.

What is a perfect day with your child?

Pancakes for breakfast, walk with the dogs, play time, nap time, play/learn/adventure time, dinner time, bath time, sleepy time. I love my weekends!!!

What is your perfect day without children?

I’d say sleep, eat, read (at a nice place), web surf, write, repeat – but I’d miss my little BB way too much!

How about you?

ADios!

The Salad Case: Honey + Cheese

Workout: 30 min yoga

This is my last month in fitness bullets:

  • Week 1: my back hurts –> no more cardio + all yoga
  • Week 2: my back hurts –> no more cardio + all yoga; why does my back still hurt?
  • Week 3: wow, that hurt – do I have sciatica? I guess I’ll go see a chiropractor. I’m scared.
  • Week 3.5: why did I wait so long? why? therapy + a massage during the workday – sign me up!
  • Week 4: still hurts but therapy tomorrow + my first round of light cardio – can’t wait!

So I’ve been taking it easy and enjoying some of this:

Last week was all sorts of hectic at work, plus I was recovering from a cold so there were no salad cases. It was a sad week for lunch – but it made me appreciate these babies even more:

IMG_0637

  • Spinach
  • Roasted butternut squash + carrots
  • Goat cheese + honey baked in the oven – say no more :)

I must confess, I went a little overboard on the sweets last week so I’m making this a no-added sugar WEEK. Oh noes!

A good mama + papa + baby bear dinner shots – still good times :)

Fajita burritos made with the Taco Bell fajita mix packet (#GoodStuff) – not too shabby!

Have you ever been to a chiropractor?

Taco Thursday: Really?

Workout: 25 min yoga + 20 min walk

Really? Thursday? Yay – tomorrow is Friday! Who knew?

Work is still all sorts of hectic, but at least I’m not bored. Although, bored might be nice some days. Just sayin’

Today’s workout was less work than I’d like, still not doing any high impact – only yoga. I need to schedule that appointment ASAP.

In the meantime, I’ve been parking farther from work so I get at least 20 minutes guaranteed walking time – I think my body is liking the down time. Do you like to take cardio/high-impact exercise breaks?

Tonight’s edition of Taco Thursday was BB-approved!

Taco Thursday: Yum!

Workout: 30 min Youble.com yoga

Dear Yoga, where have you been all my life? After four days in a row of only yoga, you’d think I’d be bored – right? Not even close, I think I’m obsessed.

I’ve felt so much stronger and relaxed after each of my AM sessions, not to mention how I literally feel what it’s doing to my back – making it stronger. Are you a yoga fan?

Speaking of the back, I think it’s getting to the point that I can start running – but I’m not going to rush it so I’ll stick to my original plan. Now I just need to set up that appointment with a Chiropractor. Tik tok, tik tok.

For dinner tonight: Tacos!

IMG_0646

  • 2 red bell peppers
  • 1 onion
  • 2 leftover basil chicken sausage links
  1. Stir-fry bell peppers + onions
  2. Add your choice of protein
  3. Assemble and you know the rest
  4. Enjoy!

After realizing how easy it was to put this dinner together, I officially declare Thursday – Taco Thursday!

I figure, I can somehow manage to take any leftovers, stir-fry and wrap them in a tortilla. Can’t get easier than that!

What’s your easiest go-to meal? Favorite taco fillings?
