Mommy Needs Coffee: Wipeout

Workout: 20 min interval run + 30 min Boost of Energy yoga flow

Woo-hoo - sleep is my friend :) It felt so good to go to sleep around 10:30 that I was ready to go in the AM. I got my run in and then found this yoga practice so empowering, it was great. I started out with another flow but found it odd the guy was playing some sort of musical instrument. I had to abandon that yoga ship!

Isn't that so true? But seriously, let's have a cup shall we?

Today's edition is proof enough that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree and that karma will get you EVERY TIME!

Last week while I was dropping off my BB at daycare and adjusting her jacket, she quickly lost her balance and ended up on her little bum on the floor. It was in front of all the kiddos and a little 3-year old laughed and said "that was funny". I couldn't help but laugh.

This week, karma caught up to me as I was taking a new route to a meeting on campus. Before I knew it, I was on the floor with my Ipad on one hand and my coffee mug on the other. All I could say was, "boy, it's slippery in here." I got up and walked out as fast as I could while trying to ignore those smirks that were all around me.

Are you a klutz or is it just me? When was the last time you took a spill?

To top it all off, turns out my Dad's taken a couple of recent spills. I guess he's too preoccupied with other matters to notice anything that's in front of him. With this type of family history, I should probably look into turning my BB into bubble girl! Right?

Well, all things in moderation - I guess. Take this article on Free-range parenting where parents let the kids learn what it feels like to fall. I really don't think I could follow this type of parenting though, it would go against every grain in my body, actually. Could you?

Also, did you guys here about this 9-year old girl that escaped her kidnapper. Scary, right? I will definitely try to follow her parent's example but it's a tricky one. Got any tips on how to teach kids about the line that should never be crossed with strangers or someone they may know?

ADios!
